Wah-Wah-Wednesday

Taken last week in Nashville, these photos bear witness to the cool front that came into the city. Curly-haired, fair-skinned girls like me jump at the opportunity to take a vacation from the heat and humidity and bring out the pants and long-sleeves.

Yet, I'm actually in Owensboro, KY right now, staying with my Aunt after making a day trip up to Lexington, KY to search for apartments.   

I will be moving up there in August to go to grad school for French. 

So, this summer, I've been in 100% Sarah chill mode, anticipating the hyper-productivity that I will soon be living in a few months.

So, if you don't mind, I gotta leave you with this outfit post and get back to my chill-fest in Owensboro, KY. Toodle-loo!

These Urban Outfitters shorts/romper/overalls are supposed to be worn with the suspenders (see below), but for most of the day, I just let the straps hang like you see in the pictures above. The suspenders are connected by little buttons, so they are also removable. However, I think I like them better suspended.

Inspirationation: Kelsey Louise

Kelsey Louise is this weeks Inspirationation and she hails from Murray, KY (where my parents are from, where I went to college @MSU and where I've been visiting over the past few weeks.) 

 This is the first time I have listed someone I know for my Inspirationation post,
but it needed to be done for many reasons.

1. First, she has great style and thrifts like nobody else, finding the best treasures.

2. Then, with that style and savoir-faire for thrifting, she opened a store in Murray, KY 
called Revival Boutique. 

And guess what? Do you remember crazy 'ole lop-sided Roberta?
 Well, she lives in Revival Boutique...

3. AND if your not in Murray for her shop, she also has a killer Etsy  
where you can buy vintage treasures.

4. Next, with her store, she either brought and/ or brought out the style that was seriously lacking (or hiding) in Murray, Kentucky. She even started a little Murray Streestyle feature.

 5. Lastly, she's just an all-around pretty cool gal. We can listen to old country songs on The Willy 102.1 together and eat DQ blizzards.  Plus she's got a pretty great guy on her arm who even helps with Etsy!:

I GOT ACCEPTED!

TWO DAYS AGO,  I got word that I was accepted to University of Kentucky's Masters program for French! So, needless to say, I was and still am very happy.  Therefore, in a few months, I will be moving to Lexington, Kentucky to become a wildcat...

But for now, I am going to run with this collegiate theme and finally post vintage photos that have been sitting in my blogger-draft for 8 months now. Prep is in and a new fad is fascination with Ivy style and collegiate looks. Therefore, all of these photos have been circulating around the blogosphere. First here we have photos from TAKE IVY, a book by the Japanese photographer T.Hayashida that released in Japan in the 1960s (Japan was fascinated by American Ivy League style):

Then, I have photos from the Vasser College Flickr Achives that I found via Miss Moss. This is what I envision  when my grandma tells stories about her all-girl school college days at Steven's in Missouri.
