Eddie Borgo, Sharks and Beetle Juice Part Deux

Eddie Borgo! Again? Yes, folks. It seems that I am obsessed with his jewelry. Last March, I posted (click here) some of my favorites from his Spring/Summer collection, which he said was inspired from the movie Beetle Juice! That won me over immediately, as it was a childhood favorite. Well alas, his fall/winter collection is now on his website, and the pieces seem even more directly inspired by Beetle Juice and sharks. What do you think?

Du Thé Anglais

I woke up with a hankering for tea à la anglaise yesterday. Now, I've already shouted my love for tea from the mountain tops of this blog.

Yet, this particular craving is quite odd as...
a) I never drink hot tea Stateside unless I'm sick
b) I only drank hot tea in France, because of the lack of ice for my usual iced tea (plus, it was fitting for the 
    weather)
c) before and after I visited England, I never had tea with milk and sugar (til now)
d) it's nearly 100 degrees outside. With the humidity, it feels like Satan's den.

Yet, I jumped in the car to go to Publix, bought some Tetley, and voila...a cuppa...in my favorite tea cup, I might add.

And, then, I found a new favorite blogger (there isn't enough time in the day to share all of my favorite bloggers!!). The blog is VINTAGE IS THE NEW BLACK aka Noirohio:

 And guess what? How apropos to my a la anglaise topic? She's recently posted pictures of her travels to England with her sister and friend Casey. I feel in love with the pics. Mainly because they are so cute...

But what's even more neat-oh, she did a collage for Shark Week on the Discovery Channel:

Inspiration Nation: Kate Lanphear and Taylor Tomasi

I discovered Kate Lanphear through the streetstyle blog Jak & Jil, and Taylor Tomasi through the blog Rackk and Ruin. I became amorously in awe of their unique and daring (therefore refreshing) style. As I flipped through the pictures, I couldn't help but draw parallels between these two women.  

First of all,  they are  both style editors of two American fashion magazines that I don't really read: Elle (Kate) and Marie Claire (Taylor). 

 Second of all, the hair, oh the hair! Kate with her "Gwyneth Paltrow-dating-Brad Pitt-while-having-matching-hair-era." Except, let's face it, her hair resembles Brad Pitt's more than it does Gwyneth's in this epoch. Add the platinum blond and a little more edge, and she looks quite badass.

Then we have Taylor with her vibrant, red hair that looks so good it makes me consider dying my hair red.

Third of all, they have a strong flair of feminine-punk in their style, and they both incorporate a lot of black into their get-ups.

Fourth of all, Kate and Taylor are fans of showy, gaudy and highly accessorized wrists.

I must point out that I believe Kate is a fan (as am I) of Eddie Borgo, the jewelry designer that I have already mentioned in one of my blog posts. I believe she is wearing this bracelet from his collection:

And, although it's difficult to ascertain in this photo above, I believe she is wearing another piece from his Fall 2009 collection:

Eddie Borgo, Sharks and Beetle Juice

This ring is added to my "Wislisht" by Eddie Borgo. It's called "Bear Trap" and it retails at $225.

 I like it because it reminds me of a shark's mouth more than a bear trap. Photo found on Fashion Poetic.

I discovered Eddie Borgo by watching a video on The Urban Outfitter's blog where he discussed his  inspiration for his new collection. He was inspired by Tim Burton and Beetle Juice, therefore, I was automatically wooed. You see, I saw that movie an unmentionable amount of times as a child, as all children do with there favorite films. This scene got me every time.
