Outfit Post: The Backyard

In the backyard. With my camera. No photographer. The 3 shot setting. The direction changes. A chair appears. My dog interrupts some photos. I'm distracted by the neighbors. The sun peeps out, the sun disappears. And like the sun, my Louis comes and goes in the images. These are the results of no tripod/no extra human at home. Blogger's with boyfriends, you don't know how good you've got it for outfit posts! But truth-be-told, this whatever method is pretty a la Passport Smiles. I ain't nothin' fancy here.

So, with this outfit, I am introducing for the first time, my ZARA TRI-COLOR, leather Heels. I fell in love with these while living in France around March. I waited and waited, and I finally bought them before leaving Europe. Since then, I've only worn them twice, because I think they are too pretty to be ruined (I'm very hard on shoes and cannot walk very well in heels). This isn't a very great picture of them, but don't worry, you'll see them again in better lighting in some future outfit posts:

To Louis or not to Louis...

...that is the ridiculously absurd question, of which I wouldn't believe you if you told me a year ago that I would be asking myself.

I have been pondering this question for quite a while now, as I confessed it to my cronies as well as on this blog a few months ago. I got many reactions from my friends. Some were disgusted, most were surprised and a select few were egging me on.
Well all that to say...

I LOUIS-ed

Black Dress: Urban Outfitters
Apron: Vintage, from "This Shop Rocks" in London
Headband: Scarf from H & M
Shoes: from Thailand; bought from an awesome Couch Surfing host in Lyon, France.
Flower Pin: Vintage, my mother's
Rings: black one from a Street vendor in Paris; green jade from my Great-Grandmother
Umbrella: bought from a store in Sarrebourg, France
Purse: Louis Vuitton, "Speedy"
I saw this picture below on someone's blog. (Unfortunately, I don't have a source) I thought to my self, "MUST. EMULATE. MAKEUP." So, I did.

Well, sorta. I didn't have the bright, opaque blue color (anymore. I used to have a perfect one from MAC). But! I gave it my best shot, anyway.
Whelp, 'til next time...

Louis, Louis, oh no, Me gotta go, Aye-yi-yi-yi

To buy or not to buy? That is the question.

EMBARRASSING CONFESSION: For some reason or another, I have decided I want a Louis Vuitton purse. I've shocked many people by this...especially Eleanor Campbell :)

So, I wanna buy one in Paris as the perfect souvenir from France. This is the one I want...The Noé:
Problem #1- Expensive
Problem # 2- Will I feel like a total TOOL wearing this? Answer- Most likely

But, my Dad is encouraging me to buy it, and last night we were Skyping and looking on the Louis Vuitton website together when he stumbled upon these lunettes de soleil :

Then he said over and over, "Sarah, you HAVE to get these! I don't care if you have to come home by boat." And then...the classic Dad quote of all time,

"If Jesus made you a pair of sunglasses,
that's what they'd look like."

HAR HAR HAR HAR!
