Monday

As much as I love looking at other blog's outfit posts, I have struggled posting mine. After an outfit post, I tend to have blogger's remorse. Ya know, feeling silly for posting a bunch of pictures of yourself. It seems, well, self-obsessed. However, I don't feel that way about my favorite fashion blogs. I don't think they're narcissistic; I think they simply enjoy fashion.

So, I am challenging myself this week to post 5 outfits and see how it goes, whether I feel absolutely ridiculous doing it or not. In addition, since I quit waitress-ing at Calypso Cafe until I go to France, I will actually be wearing decent outfits instead of an unflattering tie-dye shirt and non-slip shoes.

Today, I am wearing something mismatched but simple, without any frills or thrills. Nonetheless, I have received more compliments on this TJ Maxx dress. A few months ago, I was at a local boutique, and a woman came up to me to dote on my dress. Then I realized it was Kelly Clarkson.
I was taken aback, to say the least.

Besides the TJ Maxx dress, I am just wearing Urban Outfitters vintage boots and cardigan. Simple as that.

On the topic of boots...I probably love them more than anything else in fashion. So thank God for fall weather!  I wore these boots in the picture below 'til my Mom begged me to throw them away:

And last year, I was forced to leave 3 worn-out pairs in France due to luggage reasons. I took a picture of them in remembrance.  I would wear boots everyday if I could: cowboy boots, riding boots, ankle, leather, suede, you name it. You see, I'm like Forest's Gump's Bubba, if you substitute boots for shrimp. Well, I think I've made my point clear enough about that. Subject retired.

  1. cute outfit! and I know what you mean.. I feel silly too! and also rather embarrassed, especially when I compare what I wear to someone like Rebecca from The Clothes Horse.. kinda feels like there's no point in me making effort and that I look like a fool! but holy cow about kelly clarkson, so random! that's awesome! I never bump into celebs over here :(

  2. I love boots. end of story! I know what you mean about outfit posts. I think that is what kept me from doing them during most of my first year of blogging. I still go through phases of feeling weird about it but the most important thing is not taking yourself that seriously ;)

I agree with Kelly - great dress.

PS: my job is fairly interesting - but at the end of the day...it's still a 5 day a week job, you know ;)

  3. Ha that's so crazy that you ran into Kelly Clarkson. I do agree though, awesome dress!!

I totally know what you mean about outfit posts. I read fashion blogs all the livelong day and then when it comes time to take my own photos I feel like a goon. I feel like people will think I'm this extremely vain person, even though I never think that about other fashion bloggers. Oh well, c'est la vie. As long as I have my older brother to bring my confidence way down with his mockery, I can never get too bigheaded. :P

Oh and I also am obsessed with boots, especially my vintage cowboy boots. I'm in love.

Ok, longest blog comment ever so I will stop now.
